MWW is thrilled to support Bonterre CIC's Innovation Garden project for the fourth year in a row.

We've seen how much the garden has positively impacted students and visitors over the past three years, and we're excited about their plans for this year.

Mike Stringer, Managing Director of Bonterre, explains, “Our main focus at Bonterre is supporting children who struggle in traditional school settings. This year, our students have been actively involved in the garden learning skills like weeding, planting seeds, and tending to crops. We've even kicked off another season of our ‘Grow to Eat’ project, working with 30 kids from local schools to teach them about growing their own fruits and veggies.

Children & Adult In The Innovation Garden

During the winter, we made the garden more accessible by adding raised beds for visitors with mobility issues. We're also constructing trellised arches to grow climbing plants like beans and squash, adding both height and visual interest. To increase the variety of fruits, we've planted tayberries, raspberries, and strawberries around the perimeter.

This year, our focus is on growing a variety of vegetables and salads that our students can use in the kitchen. Any surplus produce will be sold at our new produce stall at the Bonterre gate.

We're looking forward to welcoming MWW employees and customers to see the incredible work happening at Bonterre!”
