MWW Celebrates Food Waste Action Week with their Impact Report Highlighting Environmental and Social Contribution

As Food Waste Action Week unfolds, we’ve proudly unveiled our Food Surplus Impact Report, showcasing our steadfast commitment to environmental sustainability and social responsibility. Environmental and societal impact stands as one of the cornerstones of our values, and this report underscores the tangible contributions made in these areas.

Collaborating with fabulous charity partners including FareShare, City Harvest, and The Bread and Butter Thing, we have made significant strides in reducing food waste while simultaneously addressing critical societal needs. Through these partnerships, we have been able to redirect surplus and wonky fruit and vegetables, which are perfectly delicious to eat, to feed those in most need.

Sant Mehta, CEO of MWW, emphasises the importance of our values in driving impactful initiatives: "At MWW, we are deeply committed to fostering positive change in our communities and minimising our environmental footprint. Food Waste Action Week provides us with an opportunity to reflect on our contributions to food security, environmental sustainability, and community development."

The Food Surplus Impact Report highlights the multifaceted benefits of our efforts. By redirecting surplus produce to those facing food insecurity, we not only support local communities but also reduce greenhouse gas emissions (GHG’s), fertiliser use, and methane production, thereby mitigating environmental impact.

"Innovation is at the heart of our approach," Mehta continues. "Through strategic partnerships and innovative solutions, we are able to maximise the positive impact of surplus food, creating a win-win situation for both people and the planet."

Our commitment to environmental stewardship and community development is further exemplified by our support of food banks and crisis centres last year. As economic conditions remain challenging, we remain dedicated to providing essential support to those in need, while working hard to reduce food waste and contribute to a more sustainable future.

As Food Waste Action Week encourages individuals and businesses to take action against food waste, MWW stands as a shining example of how companies can make a meaningful difference through values-driven initiatives and impactful partnerships. Through continued innovation and collaboration, we remain committed to creating positive change for both people and the planet.
