Driving Forward: MWW's Exciting New Greener Fleet Additions
We are excited to announce a giant leap forward in innovation and sustainability here at MWW with the arrival of two brand-new Volvo FH460 trucks. These cutting-edge 2024 models expand our heavy goods vehicle (HGV) fleet to a total of 15 indicating a new era of eco-friendly operations.
Ben Cowdell, our Transport & Logistics Manager, shared his excitement about the new strategic investment, saying, "Volvo is a leader in the market, which is why we've strengthened our partnership. The latest model, featuring the Turbo Compound D13TC Engine, is truly in a class of its own."
The Volvo FH460’s Turbo Compound D13TC Engine boasts an 11% boost in fuel efficiency compared to the 2015 models. The engine’s simplified design reduces moving parts, enhancing the truck’s reliability and longevity with an impressive lifespan of over a million miles of driving. The Extra Efficiency drive mode expands its versatility, making it indispensable for all of our diverse operational needs.
Here at MWW, we're not just upgrading our fleet but transforming our operations. We've integrated Volvo's web-based Dynafleet package, giving us top-tier vehicle tracking, automated reporting, and real-time alerts when arriving at customer locations. Allowing us to ensure better driver performance and safety, resulting in unmatched delivery service and making sure our fresh fruit and vegetables arrive in top-quality condition.
Driver comfort is a top priority in the Volvo FH460. With its spacious Globetrotter cab, the truck is designed for maximum driver comfort, made from high-quality materials, featuring plenty of storage, and top-notch insulation for a quieter, smoother ride. The advanced Camera Monitor System takes safety to the next level, offering a panoramic view that virtually eliminates driver blind spots.
Daniel Byworth, Area Sales Manager at Hartshornes, expressed his enthusiasm, saying, "We're thrilled to contribute to the growth of the MWW fleet. By choosing the D13TC, the most fuel-efficient engine available, MWW is not just cutting fuel costs but boosting productivity. We're grateful to Ben and the team at MWW for their ongoing trust and look forward to future collaborations."
Our Operations Director, Parveen Mehta, highlighted the vision steering this investment: "The new Volvo FH460 trucks represent a leap forward for our fleet. This investment underscores our passion for innovation, sustainability, and setting the bar high in transportation and logistics. We're on a mission to a greener, more efficient future."
With these new state-of-the-art trucks, we are revving up for a future that embraces innovation and sustainability. Our latest fleet additions are not just about increasing numbers but showcase our commitment to a sustainable and innovative future.
