Welcoming Emily Vickers – our new Technical Assistant
We are delighted to welcome Emily Vickers to the MWW team. Emily joins us as part of our placement programme in partnership with Harper Adams University, and she’ll be spending the next year learning all about the fresh produce industry as part of her degree studies. Here’s what she’s been up to…
Brushing up on her Spanish
Emily’s first task with us involved due diligence checks on our imported produce from overseas. As part of these checks, she has been ensuring shipments arrive with the correct paperwork and making sure all information is present and accurate, as well as supporting our drive to ensure a transparent supply chain from grower to customer. The checks have also allowed her the opportunity to brush up on her Spanish skills as she liaises with our partner, Frutas Alhambra.
Emily said: “The team have been incredibly welcoming and supportive, helping me to learn more about the industry and making me feel part of the team. I’ve found the due diligence process really interesting, particularly seeing how requirements can vary between different countries.”
Helping the next generation thrive
We pride ourselves on championing the next generation of talent in the industry, and Emily is the latest in a long line of Harper Adams placement students who have joined us to gain hands-on experience in key areas of our business, from technical operations to product quality.
Emily follows in the footsteps of previous Harper Adams students including Tari Onwuteaka and Molly Minshull. We wish Emily the best of luck as she begins her placement, and we can’t wait to see how she develops over the next 13 months.
