MWW Welcomes Frutas Alhambra: A Step Towards Closer Collaboration
Recently, we were delighted to welcome visitors from Frutas Alhambra, one of our long-standing supply partners based in Spain. Known for their commitment to quality, innovation, and sustainable growing practices, Frutas Alhambra plays a vital role in helping us deliver exceptional fresh produce to our customers across the UK daily.
Joining us for a tour of our farms and packing facilities were Mayda Sáez, Technical Manager, and Inés Amorós, Quality Manager. The pair are key members of the Alhambra team, and work closely with us to uphold the high standards we pride ourselves on across the supply chain.
The visit marked a special moment in MWW and Frutas Alhambra’s partnership as for Mayda it was her first time visiting us in over eight years, while for Inés, it was her first-ever visit to MWW. Together, they were able to gain a fresh perspective on our UK based operations and for Mayda to experience first-hand just how far we’ve grown in the last eight years.
A Day at Altitude
We began with a full tour of our Altitude site, where both guests were impressed by the scale of our growth and the diversity of produce flowing through our facility. It was also an excellent opportunity to showcase the breadth of our fresh produce operation and to ensure our partnership continues to strive for quality, efficiency, and ongoing improvement both here in the UK and in Spain.
Field Insights at Top Barn & MWW Farms
The following day we ventured out into the fields for visits to Top Barn and MWW Farms, where we focused on the cultivation and harvesting processes for Pak Choi and Tenderstem. By giving the Frutas Alhambra’s team hands-on insights, we were able to give Mayda and Inés valuable technical learnings and practical takeaways for them to share with their teams back in Spain, strengthening alignment between grower and supplier.
Come Rain or Shine
No trip to the UK would be complete without getting to experience our unpredictable weather. Right on que our guests were treated to a truly memorable summer downpour, with the heaviest rain we’ve seen in months! The weather certainly lived up to the great British stereotype, adding a little drama to the outdoor field visits. It also gave Mayda and Inés the chance to indulge in that great British pastime–talking about the weather.
A Shared Future
Despite the rain clouds, the visit was a thoroughly rewarding one for both parties. Visits like these are also a chance to reaffirm the importance of face-to-face collaboration, shared knowledge, and mutual understanding in being able to deliver high-quality, responsibly sourced produce across borders.
For us here at MWW, we know strong partnerships are built on trust, transparency and shared values—and this visit from the Frutas Alhambra team was a wonderful reminder of that.
We look forward to continuing our close collaboration with Frutas Alhambra and finding new ways for us both to grow together—across fields, countries, and seasons.
