India Insight 2025: Deepening Global Partnerships and Raising the Bar for Responsible Sourcing
India has long played an important role within our international supply network, so it was excellent to pay a visit to some of our key partners in the country last month. The team travelled across Maharashtra, Karnataka, Punjab, and Uttar Pradesh to learn more about how our Indian partners are farming and take a look at how the crops are growing.
It was an opportunity to not only see first-hand the care, precision and expertise that underpin every product grown for MWW, but also to continue building on the strong relationships we have with suppliers across the globe. Read more about our trip below:
Fresh in the field: standards that inspire confidence
A highlight of the trip was most certainly seeing the vibrant fields of baby corn, okra, dudhi, ivy gourd and chillies – an example of the fresh and varied produce we are proud to source from our four supplies in India.
We witnessed the vegetables being handpicked and sent to multiple packhouses in the region. As we reviewed the process, we were delighted to see the growers’ commitment to quality and compliance. For our customers and retail partners, this reinforces a simple truth: quality and safety remain at the core of our Indian supply base.
A shared sustainability agenda
Beyond technical reviews, our discussions focused heavily on the challenges and opportunities shaping the future of agriculture. Climate variability, evolving pesticide expectations, and the shift toward more regenerative practices were key themes throughout the trip.
Listening to our growers and production teams working on the ground allows us to ensure our long-term solutions around responsible sourcing aren’t just an aspiration but a shared plan of action. This remains central to our wider MWW strategy of supporting supply chains that are resilient, future-ready, and built on practical sustainability.
Partnerships rooted in people, culture, and respect
As always, India offered generous hospitality and the chance to strengthen relationships beyond the professional sphere. Shared meals, regional traditions, and time spent with families and teams brought valuable cultural connection to the forefront.
For us, it’s really important that strong partnerships grow from trust, openness and human connection – not just commercial alignment. It’s one of the many ways we live our values.
Looking ahead: a confident future with India
India continues to play a strategic and growing role in our fresh produce portfolio. With committed partners, technical capability, and a shared focus on quality, we’ve seen significant opportunity on this trip to deepen our collaboration and support long-term growers across the key regions.
