Empowering Women in Fresh Produce: MWW’s Commitment to Supporting Women in Leadership
As we build up to celebrating International Women’s Day (next week), MWW is proud to recognise the valuable contributions of women in leadership across the fresh produce industry. Women are not only shaping businesses but also driving innovation, sustainability, and inclusivity across the sector.
The Impact of Women in Leadership
Women in senior leadership roles bring diverse perspectives, strategic thinking, and a collaborative approach to leadership. Their presence fosters creativity, stronger problem-solving, and a more inclusive workplace culture. Research consistently shows that companies with women in leadership perform better, reinforcing the importance of gender diversity in driving business success.
At MWW, we believe that when women rise, businesses thrive. Through mentorship, professional development, and a commitment to fostering gender diversity, we continue to support and empower women across our business.
Supporting Women in Agriculture
Supporting women in agriculture is an essential part of fostering a sustainable and progressive industry. As part of our ongoing commitment to global trade, we recently hosted 11 women-led fresh produce businesses from Kenya and Rwanda through the SheTrades Commonwealth+ Programme. By sharing insights and building strong networks, we contribute to empowering women in the sector and creating new opportunities for growth
During their visit, they attended insightful presentations from Parveen Mehta, Pascal Simian, and Stephanie Collister, who shared market insights, industry expertise, and practical strategies for business growth. The session sparked engaging discussions, with participants exchanging experiences, challenges, and strategies for scaling their businesses in the global fresh produce sector.
Supporting women in agriculture isn’t just about inclusivity—it’s about fostering innovation, sustainability, and long-term industry growth. By collaborating with initiatives like SheTrades, we help create opportunities for women entrepreneurs to connect, learn, and expand their impact worldwide.

International Women’s Day Conference & Exhibition 2025
To further our commitment to supporting women in business, MWW attended the International Women’s Day Conference & Exhibition 2025 in Birmingham on Tuesday 25th February. This event brought together business leaders, professionals, and advocates to share insights, network, and celebrate women’s achievements.
The conference featured inspiring speakers, panel discussions, and exhibitions from organisations championing gender equality. It provided a platform for empowering conversations, professional development, and strategies to create more inclusive workplaces.
