Deepening Supplier Relationships in the Dominican Republic

Recently, we were pleased to welcome representatives from one of our long-standing coconut supply partners based in the Dominican Republic to our UK site. The visit marked a valuable opportunity to further strengthen our relationship, share insights, and explore new avenues for collaboration with the team.

Over the past 12 months, the Dominican Republic has been significantly affected by extreme weather events. These have included hurricanes and sustained heavy rainfall, which have created major challenges for coconut cultivation in the region. These difficult growing conditions have led to reduced yields and placed increased pressure on growers, who are working hard to maintain their supply chains.

Despite these setbacks, our supplier has shown exceptional resilience, and a continued commitment to maintaining quality and consistency of product. Their determination in the face of adversity is a testament to the strength of our partnership and the shared values that underpin it.

During their time with us, we had the chance to better understand the on-the-ground realities facing the team and to align on new opportunities that will benefit both us and our supplier. As well as reinforcing our ongoing collaboration on coconuts, discussions focused on the potential for expanding into new tropical lines, including mangoes, avocados, and potentially legumes.
