Celebrating the women who make MWW
It was recently International Women’s Day, and we wanted to take a moment to celebrate the women of MWW – our friends and colleagues who make a difference every single day of the year.
For 60 years, as a proud family business, people have been at the heart of MWW and central to our growth into the leading fresh produce business we are today. Women across the company — from our head office teams to colleagues on our farms, in our packhouses and warehouses, and throughout our wider supply chain — play a vital role in strengthening MWW, as well as the partnerships and communities we are connected to.
Women making waves, locally and globally
Over the past year, we’ve had the opportunity to support and learn from women across the wider fresh produce supply chain, including welcoming women growers and exporters from Kenya through our involvement in the SheTrades initiative. Meeting these women was a powerful reminder of what can happen when women are given the opportunity to connect, share expertise and access new markets. The benefits are felt both within their communities and across the whole industry.
Closer to home, we have focused on creating a workplace that supports women at every stage of their lives and careers. From opening up important conversations around menopause in the workplace, to investing in wellbeing and health initiatives, we know that building a strong business means creating an environment where everyone feels valued, understood and able to thrive.
For us, support goes beyond the workplace too. Through initiatives such as our Kumon Scholarship Programme, we are proud to help invest in the futures of our colleagues’ families, because real support is not only about today – it’s about helping create opportunities for tomorrow.
A huge thank you
At MWW, we celebrate women and their achievements 365 days a year. So whether our female colleagues are leading from the front, working quietly behind the scenes, building their careers or their confidence, all are helping to open doors for the next generation.
Despite this, we know there is always more to do, and that meaningful progress comes from actions, not just words. This is why we would like to say thank you and recognise the women whose contribution continues to make MWW stronger.
To all the women across MWW and throughout our wider fresh produce community: thank you. Your expertise, energy and dedication help us grow every day.
