In an industry where ethical business practices are increasingly business critical, at MWW we remain committed to transparency, equality, and diversity. As part of this commitment, we’re proud to present our 2023 Gender Pay Gap report and Modern Slavery Statement, highlighting our ongoing efforts to uphold ethical standards throughout our operations.
For over 60 years, MWW has been dedicated to creating opportunities for our diverse, skilled, and passionate workforce. With a staff of 425 individuals, comprising 73% male and 27% female employees, we recognise the importance of ensuring gender equality across all levels of the organisation.
Parveen Mehta, HR & Operations Director at MWW, emphasises the significance of this year's report, stating, "This year's Gender Pay Gap report reflects our continued efforts to address disparities within our organisation. We've taken proactive steps to analyse and improve gender pay equality, and our results demonstrate progress since we began reporting."
Our latest Gender Pay Gap report reveals a mean gap of 3.35% in hourly pay, indicating a slight difference in average earnings between male and female employees. However, the median gap stands at -0.9%, suggesting that on a median basis, female employees earn slightly more than their male counterparts. This positive trend is reflected in the significant reduction in the gender pay and bonus gap since reporting began.
Despite these improvements, we acknowledge that there is still work to be done. The gender pay gap continues to be influenced by the demographic makeup of the workforce, with more males occupying senior leadership roles and more females in lower-paid positions. Nevertheless, here at MWW we remain committed to further progress, ensuring that our policies and actions continue to move in the right direction.
In addition to the Gender Pay Gap report, we also recognise the importance of combatting modern slavery within our global supply chain. Our latest Modern Slavery Statement outlines MWW's zero-tolerance approach to modern slavery and human trafficking, reaffirming our commitment to ethical sourcing practices. By scrutinising our supply chain and actively engaging with suppliers, at MWW our goal is to ensure that all workers are treated fairly and ethically.
As Parveen states, "This year's reports reflect our dedication to upholding ethical standards across all aspects of our business. By addressing gender disparities and combatting modern slavery, we are not only fulfilling our legal obligations but also demonstrating our commitment to doing what is right."
The publication of our latest Gender Pay Gap report and Modern Slavery Statement is part of our unwavering commitment to transparency, equality, and ethical business practices. As we continue on our journey, we remain focused on driving positive change and creating a workplace where diversity is celebrated, and every individual has the opportunity to thrive.
