Innovative packaging design

We collaborated with the industry-leading Reflex Labels and Produce Packaging to create the new packaging for our best-selling avocado product – the Twin Pack Ready to Eat Avocados.

The new packaging features linerless lids, paired with fully recyclable trays. The custom tray design cuts out the need for plastic, while ensuring avocados remain fresh and visible for strong retail displays.

At the heart of the solution is the Ravenwood Nobac 5000 applicator, a high-speed automated system capable of applying linerless fruit lids at more than 50 packs per minute. The technology eliminates the need for traditional backing paper, significantly reducing material waste, while streamlining both production and recycling processes.

Reducing environmental impact

As retailers continue to prioritise sustainability to meet net zero targets, packaging innovation is becoming a critical differentiator across the product aisle.

The new linerless format offers a practical solution to help retailers reduce their plastic usage and carbon footprint – without compromising on product quality and visual impact.

By combining recyclable trays, linerless labelling technology, and improved automation capability, the twin pack is the next-generation solution for the UK avocado category.
